Underground Cable Works
Underground cables are used for power applications where it is impractical, difficult, or dangerous to use the overhead lines. They are widely used in densely populated urban areas, in factories, and even to supply power from the overhead posts to the consumer premises.
Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has taken an initiative to implement underground power distribution network in four major cities to increase the longevity and reliability of the power distribution system. After its implementation, people will get modern power supply facilities.
“All the overhead power cables in Dhaka and other major cities will go underground within the next five years”. State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid made the comment while addressing a contract signing ceremony at the Bidyut Bhaban on February, 2020.
Ringtech Ltd. already started work with different authority to start underground cable work.
